Why would you pay $300-$400 for a pot?  While the price raises a few eyebrows there is really good reason for doing this. I recommend a Le Creuset dutch oven. Everyone should have at least one.  I have many customers who have had these pots for 30 to 40 years.  Made in France from enamelled cast iron this pot is one of the best long term investments you can make.

Not only do they wear well they also cook well.  Cast iron is an excellent heat conductor…so heat all across the bottom and up the sides…for even cooking. Food actually can taste better in this pot because the moisture and heat is sealed inside.

If you are only buying one of these pots, I recommend opting on the larger side as this is what you will use it most for….roasts, soups, jams…things you cook in quantity.  And if you think about it on a year to year basis the price is actually very low.

Le Creuset is one of the best lines of cookware in the world and is sold all over the world.
